Marcus Trufant Inspirational College Scholarship

The Marcus Trufant Inspirational College Scholarship was established in 2004, one year after Marcus was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks as the 11th overall pick in 2003 draft, because Marcus wanted to give back to his Alma Mater- Wilson High School. It was later decided that this should be a community scholarship so Marcus expanded the scholarship opportunity to all high schools in the City of Tacoma. Our goal is to continue to expand this scholarship to select high schools each year in the surrounding communities. Students apply through the high school scholarship committee and the Trufant Family Foundation will choose who will be awarded the scholarship. This Scholarships is renewed yearly if the students continue to be a full time student and is making satisfactory progress towards graduation.

In 2015 the Trufant Family Foundation is introducing a new scholarship. It is The Marcus Trufant Athlete of Distinction Scholarship for a Wilson High School student to attend Washington State University-His Alma Mater. Only Wilson High School Students are eligible for this scholarship. Students will also apply through the high school scholarship committee and the Trufant Family Foundation will choose who will be awarded the scholarship.

We host events to raise funds for the scholarship program and ask for your help with sponsorship's and donations to ensure that an opportunity to attend college is provided to all youth and especially to those who need financial help to attend. Donations are accepted throughout the year so please make your donations directly to the Trufant Family Foundation. We thank you for your support in advance.
